Abstract :
Test techniques have been developed to perform remote conducted emission measurements when the physical distance between the equipment under test (EUT) and the line impedance stabilization network (LISN) exceeds the length of the EUT power cord. The approach is based on the use of an extension power line with specified characteristic impedance which is called the matched LISN power cable assembly (MLPC). The MLPC design options are discussed, including the use of coaxial cables as current-carrying conductors and impedance-tuning circuits incorporated in the assembly connector. The suggested techniques were experimentally verified and are used as a standard feature for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing
