Abstract
A dynamic (active feedback controlled) dielectrophoretic levitation system has been developed to explore the electrical character of live biological cells. Stable levitation was achieved by monitoring the cell position and actively controlling the voltage applied to cone-plate electrodes assembly using a feedback control scheme. The performance of such a system was investigated using Canola protoplasts where the frequency-dependent polarization spectra were obtained over a wide frequency range for various suspension conductivities.<>
