Abstract :
The author presents results of recent research on bioelectromagnetic effects as well as some historical background on the problem. The official view of the US government is examined along with a report on a Congressional hearing on EM effects. Particular attention is given to the effect of video display terminals on pregnant women. It is concluded that, at this time, there are fewer and fewer scientists saying that there is positively no possibility of nonthermal hazards of low level EM fields. It is argued, however, that to interpret this as saying that there definitely are non-thermal hazards would be an error
