Abstract
The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) investigation of electric equipment which includes energy conversion, power delivery, and power systems is considered. It is noted that, in such studies, it is always necessary to measure the harmonic current (voltage) of the harmonic disturbance source and the harmonic impedance of the system. However, the harmonic disturbance source and impedance in the power system change in a complex manner both in the time and the frequency domain; the actual harmonic features cannot be obtained by the conventional method of random-sample measurement. Several examples are used to show that the quantitative results in this area can be obtained with continuous sampling and analysis methods
