  • Abstract
Digital Audio and Video Broadcasting (DAB/DVB) has massive potential for the development of passive bistatic radar. The Digital broadcasting signal had been proved as a good `illuminator of opportunity´ for passive coherent location (PCL) radar systems. Digital terrestrial multimedia broadcasting (DTMB) was announced as the Chinese DTV standard in August, 2006. This paper presents a method for reception, decoding and reconstruction of DTMB transmitting signal for the purpose of using it in PCL systems as a reference signal. The simulation results demonstrate that the recreated reference signal has a high similarity with the transmitted signal, which can act as a perfectly reconstructed and error-free match signal for the following 2D Cross-correlation processing.
