Abstract :
The authors first discuss various traditional methods of H field measurement and associated problems, and then present and detail an alternative measurement system designed to counter these problems. The system will measure low level magnetic field strength to MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-462, and other applicable military, government, and industrial (both domestic and international) standards in the 20 Hz to 50 kHz region. Since the sensor probe is small, it can be used to make point measurements. The sensitivity of the ferrite is in the area of 1 nanotesla and the ferrite exhibits a linear response in the measurement range 20 Hz to 50 kHz, thus satisfying specified requirements. It is concluded that for these reasons, this device is a very useful tool for the measurement of low level, low frequency magnetic fields
