Abstract
Concurrent engineering as a set of methods, addressed the issues of the technology age by allowing the new ability of larger and faster computers to be utilized. Work can be accomplished simultaneously and the overall time frame at which tasks can be completed is shortened. But does concurrent engineering become the most effective use of time and resources, given the added information handling software both local and on-line? Ideally the answer lies in creating a new set of methods for product development that match both the new technology and the catapult into the information age
