  • Abstract
The parametric MLSE algorithms used to equalize the multipath wireless channels have been proposed by Chen, and Paulraj (see VTC´97, Phoenix, May, 1997). These algorithms are developed based on a parametric channel model. In this paper, we examine the robustness of these algorithms against a non-parametric channel model. We show that the parametric MLSE algorithms can perform better or at least as well, compared to those of the MLSE algorithms with the conventional MMSE channel estimation, regardless of the channel model. Simulation results further re-confirm this claim in a non-parametric channel with diffused paths, and in a parametric channel with hundreds of independent paths
