Abstract
In this paper, different mitigation methods dealing with voltage regulation in power distribution networks are analyzed the evaluation of these methods provided in the paper, demonstrate that the effectiveness of each method varies and the verdict as to which one would be the optimum from the performance and cost point of view remains an open question. It is also concluded that electricity grid codes and potential future communication infrastructure can impact on the selection of the best mitigation method for a given case. Likewise, inverter technologies can have a great role in this regard as well.
