Abstract :
The intensity of afterglow phosphorescence and lifetime from the fiber-optic thermometer using long duration phosphor, SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+, have been evaluated. In the long phosphorescent sensor head, the intensity of afterglow phosphorescence increases greatly and linearly with the temperature ranging from 270 K to 320 K with the temperature coefficient of 1.3%·K-1. Temperature coefficient of the afterglow intensity is found to be more sensitive than that of PL lifetime.
