Abstract
At present, the marine transportation industry in China is developing rapidly. Marine traffic security becomes more important. As a result, the research on appraisal marine traffic security´s social benefits has important theoretical value and practical significance. Based upon extensive analysis of various influencing factors and the widespread collection of correlation data materials, this article utilizes a gray comprehensive evaluation method to appraise the social benefits of marine traffic security and identify the characteristics of marine traffic security´s social impacts. Next, a case study is used to demonstrate the proposed method. In summary, this article provided a set of study methods and mentalities for social benefits appraisal of marine traffic security, and furnished the policy-making support on the improvement of marine traffic security and the enhancement of management level.
