Abstract :
In this paper, we have used an in-depth case study of BYD to help understand the Chinese way of innovation. BYD has shown a profound understanding of local culture and market. The case analysis suggests that BYD has innovatively utilized its strategic resources and have come up with new way of production. It is also innovative in exploring its partnership networks such as adoption of a vertical integration strategy to meet the demand of ODMs. Implications for MNCs and diasporas are given at last.
