Study of manufacturing competitiveness in Jiangsu, China from a new pattern perspective

Manufacturing industry is the pillar industry of Jiangsu Province, China. In this paper, we designed and evaluated the manufacturing industry of Jiangsu Province using a new pattern through the law of entropy right from three perspectives including productive power of economic, competitive power of science and technology, protective power of environment and resource. Then we analyzed different cities and regions in Jiangsu according to this new pattern index. Study showed that the top three of new pattern index were Wuxi, Suzhou and Nanjing, new pattern index of southern Jiangsu, central Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu fell into a ladder-like, according with the level of economic development.
