Abstract
The paper describes a medium level tool to implement active objects. This programming environment uses communicating active components (Cacls) and hides low-level mechanisms of the target machine for the programmer. An object-based concurrent application may be defined as a set of Cacls. The authors propose several distributed representations of fragmented active objects. The goal is intra-object parallelism and distribution
