Abstract :
A detector based on order statistics is derived for adaptive detection of the distributed target in spherically invariant random vector clutter. The distributed target, which is modelled as a subspace random signal, may be distributed both in range and also in Doppler frequency axes. Firstly, the deterministic scatterer model generalized likelihood ratio test based on order statistics (OS-DSM-GLRT) is devised. Then an adaptive detector is obtained by replacing the number of range cells h0 and the normalized clutter covariance matrix with their estimation, respectively. The performance assessment conducted by Monte Carlo simulation confirms the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed detector.
