Abstract
An IGBT inverter-type power supply for CO2 arc welding was developed, using LPC2131 embedded ARM unit to realize output waveform control. The main switching circuit and the embedded chip compose a fully digitalized system. It is essentially a constant current (CC) power supply through PWM control, and can track reference output current during short-circuit period in accordance with physical transfer process. Hardware configuration and software flowchart of the system are introduced in this paper. The experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the control approach of this system.
