Abstract
A new transform which combines the key features of the Radon transform and the wavelet transform is presented. This transform, developed in response to the problem of wake detection in open water synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, has parameters for rotation in addition to spatial localization. Images with arbitrary positioned linear features are shown to produce strong horizontal lines in the transform domain. This property is used to construct a wavelet localized Radon transform based detector. The performance of this detector is examined on two images.
