Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method using the modified Arnoldi algorithm instead of eigendecomposition to detect signal subspaces that need to estimate bearing angle of broadband signals. The modified Arnoldi method can be used to compute efficiently a few eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors in the spatial covariance matrix. The results of computer simulation are shown the superior performance of this proposed method to the eigendecomposition method about estimating DOAs under broadband coherent signal environment
