Abstract :
This work applies LMI control to a nonlinear switched mode power converter. The linearized model of the converter presents a non-minimum phase response. Nonlinearities and uncertainty are taken into account using a polytopic model. The LMI formulation permits to build a state-feedback controller to stabilize the plant with the maximum perturbation rejection and a certain pole placement constraint. The main advantage of this approach is that the controller is computed automatically by a numerical algorithm. The method has been applied to a second-order step-up converter and the results have been compared with two different output-feedback controllers that were designed using quantitative feedback theory.
