Abstract :
Emerging low-Earth-orbit satellite (LEOS) communication systems will have the capability of providing global personal communication services (PCS). Efficient resource utilisation and interoperability with terrestrial networks is essential in such LEOS systems. This paper addresses the efficient provision of general packet radio service (GPRS) over an integrated GSM-LEOS communication system. Dynamic resource allocation and call admission control for multiple (voice and data) traffic classes is proposed. The performance of the scheme is evaluated using chosen grade of service (GoS) and quality of service (QoS) parameters
