Fingerprint verification based on minutiae and moments

This paper, deals with the fingerprint verification system based on minutiae and invariant moment features. Our matching algorithm includes two main steps. At first, searching the matched regions based on local structures and invariant moment features, then the algorithm is repeated until finding all the matched regions. The preprocessing STFT enhancement is used to improve the clarity of the ridges. The proposed method performs better accuracy than the traditional matching based only on local structure features. The experimental test is conducted with database FVC2002 DB2.
