Abstract
This paper proposes a dual-microphone end-fire array directivity enhancement method based on phase difference enhancement algorithm. This method passes, without distortion, all signal components within a specified angle range of incidence from the desire direction, and attenuates the interference signals outside this range, i.e., without an undesired backward lobe existing in the prior work using a broadside microphone array to receive sound signal. Reconsidering the relation between the phase difference and attenuation, a method to double the maximum operating frequency in a conventional end-fire array is also provided.
