Abstract
A real-time H.263 video codec system is presented is this paper. The TMS320C80 which consists of four parallel DSPs is used in the system. A few strategies are used to reduce the computation complexity and hence increase the frame rate. The parallel implementation of the H.263 algorithm on the parallel DSPs is described and the performance of the real-time codec is discussed
