Abstract

This paper describes the outline of an expert system which is a result of a research project, in which the authors are engaged, related to the availability of an automated instructional system that supports individualized learning as well as an environment capable of building instructional programs that incorporate prepared course materials in lessons or didactical units. This expert system called AIEI (Automatic and Integrated Environment for Instruction) is being developed in the Faculty of Computer Science of the UPM (Universidad Politecnica de Madrid).
