Abstract :
Image registration is the process of aligning two images of different modalities or images acquired at different times using the same modality. Minimization of the alignment error with less computation is a challenging task especially in a medical imaging system. To deform the image for alignment with reference image, the Demons deformation algorithm has been used extensively. This paper presents some modification in Demons deformation algorithm which helps to reduce alignment error as well as runtime by 25% and 33% respectively.
