Abstract
Generally, the bandwidth cannot be allocated equally to all destination users in the case of multicast communication in a private ATM network. Therefore, a source user should change the output data rate under his own control, according to the dynamic change of requirements from destination users. Additionally, the bandwidth for a multicast connection should be modified according to the output data rate to utilize the finite network resources efficiently. However, the current signalling procedure cannot support this modification for the bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a new signalling procedure which solves this problem
