  • Abstract
Based on the method of auxiliary sources, an effective method of solution of the problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction on a voluminous body is suggested, and numerical results for some geometries are obtained and analysed. The suggested method is based on the presentation of the solution as a combined expansion in terms of elementary (fundamental) and multiple (sphere harmonics) solutions of the Helmholtz equation. Type and distribution of the auxiliary sources are chosen in dependence of the main singularities of the incident and scattered fields. It is shown that only a correct choice of auxiliary sources ensures a boundary problem solution with guaranteed accuracy
