Abstract :
An algorithm has been introduced for interpolation and extrapolation of digital signals based on a frequency domain weighting function. The approach is viable for a large class of signals through proper selection of the weighting function. While the algorithm is in this sense general, it is also possible to reproduce the behavior of established reconstruction algorithms (at least in the limit) with judicial selection of the weighting function.
