Abstract :
This paper presents a resistive loading ultra-wideband (UWB) dipole antenna for narrow borehole radar systems with discrete Wu-King resistive profile, which is realized by loading lumped resistors discretely on both arms of the dipole antenna. The proposed antenna has many advantages for ground penetrating radar (GPR) applications such as reduced wire dipole diameter, less late-time ringing, and relatively high radiation efficiency.
