Abstract
The study presents analysis of use of the acoustic impulse in air (gas) and solid to measure characteristics of ultrasonic receivers. The authors have created measurement systems with the sources of the acoustic impulse, devices for positioning and controlling, and software for the measurement of the characteristics. They have carried out research that allowed them to visualise the wave propagation in different environments and allowed them to distinguish receiver signals, created by different types of waves. The study presents examples of characteristics of special microphones and acoustic emission receivers, also examples of measured acoustic fields
