Abstract
The author presents a simple approach to a dry calibration procedure for the primary transducer of an electromagnetic flowmeter for open conducting and nonconducting flow channels. The author has focused on two main problems: variable water level in the measurement zone and variable environmental conductivity, and their influence on the flow signal. Based on an existing numerical model of the primary transducer, the author has described the main idea of transfer function calculation with a few examples. As an approximation instrument for a final form of correction function the sigmoidal two layer neural network has been applied
