Abstract :
There are more of 64! possibilities of representation of the genetic code via a 8 × 8 square matrix. All these representations are not equivalent and some have specific properties. In particular, the representation of the standard code, mostly used, brings into focus the role of the first two bases in the 64 codons that correspond to the 20 amino acids. The distance between codons and the regrouping of synonymous codons are well integrated in this quasi universal formulation. But other approaches have been developed recently, especially from the p-adic numbers system and Hadamard matrices. It is interesting, not only to compare these different formulations, but also seek to involve them in a synthesis approaches in order to benefit from all their properties.
