Abstract :
The presence of 50 Hz and harmonic frequency components in measurement data can cause important leakage errors in discrete Fourier transform (DFT) based signal processing due to the fact that the mains frequency is not stable. In this paper a measurement principle is presented which avoids the leakage by resampling the measurement data on a non-equidistant time grid. The grid is chosen in such a way that the varying 50 Hz frequency is exactly one spectral line after DFT of the resampled data. Simulation results are presented using a local cubic interpolator
