Abstract :
Many research works have studied the parametrization of compactly supported orthonormal wavelets. This parametrization consists of establishing the equations leading to determine the relating filter bank i.e. the scaling filter and the wavelet filter. In this paper we present a method of construction of a compactly supported orthonormal wavelet. Afterwards we apply this approach in two practical cases which leads us to interesting solutions. Finally we exploit one of the found solutions in the image processing domain by studying its contribution in two applications where the image reconstruction is required which are denoising and compression.
