Abstract :
The distribution of a precise time signal is crucial for telescope operations, pointing and tracking performances can depend on its accuracy. In new generation telescopes, with distributed control systems, where the computer support is essential, it has become an issue. We describe the solutions adopted to set the time base and to synchronize computers in the TNG LAN (Telescopio Nazionale Galileo LAN)
