  • Abstract
    After decades of wired communication, the wireless communication has replaced them in the recent past. Due to the large bandwidth of wireless communication, it is used for multimedia applications. The wireless multimedia network has gained tremendous importance in recent years due to its wide applications. It is unreliable because of network parameter constraints such as bandwidth, buffer, delay, jitter, routing etc. These constraints can be made more flexible, efficient, robust by adopting new technologies into wireless multimedia networks. The new technologies should address important issues like multicast routing, resource allocation, synchronization, etc. The multicast routing algorithms in wireless multimedia networks does not depend only on the distance but also requires stringent QoS parameters like link delay, jitter, link reliability, resource availability, etc. In this paper we have developed a novel algorithm for multicast routing that considers two QoS parameters viz., link delay and jitter for packet routing. The simulation results reveal that the packet delivery ratio and iteration time are improved.
