Abstract :
The Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Energy (DOE), the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the European Environment Agency (EEA) have agreed to participate in a collaborative effort to develop and demonstrate a means for sharing and using environmental data. The collaboration is through the Environmental Data Exchange Network, or EDEN project. This paper introduces this project and describes the technical approach to accomplishing the EDEN project goals
