Abstract
The performances of system on chip (SoC) and the field programmable gate array (FPGA) particularly, increase continually. Thus, they can be an interesting solution for embedding many applications and especially complex electric control, where the demands of real time (RT) platforms increase every year. In this paper, there is presented different design for the implementation on embedded processor cores and performance analysis of such embedded systems. Moreover, the following pages outline the new SoC design techniques; investigate the gain with using embedded RTOS-kernel for higher RT performance. Experimental results carried on a prototyping platform are given to illustrate successfully that the digital control implementation on hard-core processor associated with an embedded RTOS provides interesting control performance.
