Abstract :
Aerial target motion modes have a close relationship with its attitude angles, hence with radar signatures. Expressions for radar signatures are derived from target echo signal firstly, including radar cross section (RCS) and angular glint error. A theoretical analysis on attitude rates of radar line-of-sight (LOS) under different motion modes is then performed. Taking a two-scatterer simple target as an example, we establish the relationship between radar signatures and the attitude rates of radar LOS. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted to validate the theoretical analysis. The conclusions are significant for feature-aided motion mode identification and maneuver detection technologies.
