Abstract :
Today biologists from a myriad of domains of specialism are once again seeing the virtue of systems thinking and its fundamentals as evidenced by the wealth of interest in systems biology. We seek a science and approach that we believe will provide richer insight into system failure, ´health´ maintenance, repair, replication, growth, and mutation. We are proposing a deeper structure to systems per se. We want to discover the ´DNA´ of systems and we want to understand their behavior using biological analogies which we believe will turn out to be more than metaphors. We assert that systems have micro-structure which will explain their individual life cycle and their communal ecology.
