Abstract :
This article presents a method for coarse classification of targets based on extraction of size features of the one-dimensional high-resolution radar range profiles (HRRP). It analyzes the factors for limitation of the classification accuracy and puts forward the methods for improvement of classification accuracy and signal-noise ratio by means of movement compensation and integration on range profiles. The methods have been proven to be practically useful for coarse target classification by way of collection, analysis and verification of the data of four kinds of civil aviation air planes.
