Abstract
The Seychelles archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean of outstanding and breathtaking beauty is considered a perfect example of Paradise. Environmental conservation remains the basis for its present and future existence. The paper seeks to highlight that sustained socioeconomic growth leading to expansion of the electricity utility does not necessarily fall into a cross roads with national environmental policies. Environment compatible utility strategies practiced in this island nation may very well be a model to the world.
