Abstract :
A toolbox for the optimization of FIR filters for quantized high granularity technologies has been implemented. The main principle is to make the best possible filter that fits into the specified number of logic elements on the target technology. The design environment consists of the toolbox and commercial tools Matlab, Synopsys and XACT. Xilinx XC4000 series FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays) have been used to demonstrate the performance of the optimization tool
