Abstract :
A multicarrier code division multiple access (MC/CDMA) system, which is being considered for the implementation of a high data rate system in the future, offers robustness to multipath fading and high spectral efficiency. However, carrier frequency offset between the transmitter and the receiver degrades system performance. In this paper, the effects of frequency offset are theoretically analyzed and verified by computer simulations in a downlink channel. Both equal gain combining (EGC) and maximal ratio combining (MRC) are considered in combining subcarrier signals in the analysis
