Abstract :
In this paper the airway resistance is analyzed based on anatomical structure and fractal character. The airway can be divided by three parts, the first part is large trachea and the airflow is turbulent., the second part is intermediate bronchus that has smaller diameters and rather thin thickness. Then the flow is combination of laminar and turbulent flow with tube collapsible play important roles. Third part is small bronchiole with flow property laminar. The airway structure is dichotomy with fractal similarity. Using fractal property and Poisseulli equation, the airway resistance is computed by fractal analysis for the small bronchus parts.
