Abstract
In this paper a new design for planar microstrip antenna 4-by-4 sub-array is presented. This sub-array can be integrated into different antenna arrays to reach suitable gains required for different applications such as satellite TV receivers, and direct broadcast by satellite DBS systems. It has been implemented on Rogers substrate using printed circuit board PCB technology. This sub-array is formed by connecting four 2-by-2 sub-arrays using corporate feeding networks. The new design is simulated using Agilent ADS/Momentum simulator. The presented simulation results include both S-parameters and radiation patterns. The photographs of the fabricated prototype are included. The present sub-array offers a very good isolation between the feeding ports, dual-polarization radiation, low levels of cross polarization, high radiation efficiency, and wide impedance bandwidth.
