Abstract :
In this paper, an analytical interconnect power model based on Parseval´s relation for Fourier series is presented. The accurate transmission line model is used in the proposed power model. For digital integrated circuits, the input voltage of interconnects is usually a periodic signal and can be represented by a Fourier series. Based on Parseval´s relation, closed-form solutions for the average power consumption is given by infinite order harmonics of input voltage and input current. For fast computation, the interconnect power model can be approximated by the first several order harmonics when the higher order harmonics are ignored. Good accuracy is observed between the model and the SPICE results.
