Abstract :
This paper presents two kinds of models, named ldquotime-domain modelsrdquo and ldquofrequency-domain modelsrdquo. The typical model of the first kind is a ldquotwo branch modelrdquo, which is very similar to many other in literature from the circuital point of view. However the process of identification of its parameters is easier and faster. While the latter one is a model using impedance spectroscopy to model the dynamic behavior of electric double layer capacitors. The model in the frequency domain, the parameter calculation, and the inverse transformation into the time domain are discussed. Experimental charge tests have been executed on EDLCs. The experimental results and the performed simulations of both models have been reported in order to verify the validity of them. Statistics shows that the frequency-domain model is more suitable for simulating the dynamic behaviors such as voltage response and energy efficiency of automotive power systems.
