Abstract :
In this paper, we deal with a fast handover scheme using handover notification with no acknowledgement for reserved access in 3rd-generation partnership project long term evolution (3GPP-LTE) system [1]. In the proposed handover scheme, a handover UE designates an RAP in advance and notifies it to the target eNB via the source eNB. Then, the handover UE detaches the connection to the source eNB and tries random access using the reserved RAP with no acknowledgement. Therefore, the handover delay can be greatly reduced, since the handover UE does not wait the acknowledgement from the source eNB and secures access to the target eNB without collision.
