Abstract
A new modeling technique is proposed to achieve fast time-domain simulation of digital circuits. A nonlinear switching device is modeled as a time-variant linear circuit, and the state equation is converted into a linear equation. As an example, transient waveform simulation is demonstrated with a simple model of a CMOS output buffer. Once the state transition matrix for the device is calculated, then simulation for different conditions can be performed in linear calculation.
